BILLING
1.When i setup DIRECTTV bk in 09-07 apparently there was a promo for free NFL SUNDAY TICKET.This was not written on my bill from DIRECTTV.
2. This year in 07/08 on my DIRECTTV there was a note saying "FREE RENEWAL NFL SUNDAY TICKET".This was also noted on my 08/08 bill.When it showed up on my 09/08 bill it showed a charge of $41.50 per month for NFL SUNDAY TICKET.
This is going to be a monthly charge for 6 months which comes out to be $249.00 total. I called to drop this service and DIRECTTV said it was too late.I don't and never have watched FOOTBALL.They wont check programming for me to verify it has never been watched at my house.I have written letters and e-mails and now have an order for a different cable provider and DIRECTTV said there was nothing they could do for me. They were sad to see me leave as a client.
I don't have $41.50 a month to pay for a service i have and never will watch.
All i want is someone at DIRECTTV to admit this was a sneaky way of doing business. I never ever order this NFL SUNDAY TICKET.

Removal of many good XM stations( Standards) from music channel
With the merger of Sirius and XM, Direct TV has removed channel 853; Standards; with their programing. We have lost a lot of the music channels for us older folks. I personally listen to music all day and turn the TV on only at night
I know that XM and Sirius both still have these channels on their satellite radios because my car have satellite radio but, have eliminated from their TV schedule. Such performers as Sinatra, Bennett, Torme, etc. are gone from the TV schedule. THere is plenty of HEAVY METAL and RAP(CRAP) still available.
I have never sent a complaint to anybody before but, this upsets me and I'm sure many others, especially at the price you pay of their services.

I hate Direct tv and everyone who works for them, three weeks now i'm still waiting on them to come by and fix my high definition problem. I called the office of the president of Direct tv and still nothing
they keep telling me that someone will call me back within two hours, HA HA HA
remember one thing
DIRECT TV SUCKS!!!

Erroneous Billing
Direct TV charged us for service at an address that was a vacant house.
We moved from California in August 2006. When we arrived in TX we started up a new account with Direct TV.
The DTVcustomer service Rep said start a new account to get the perks. We did. Six months later we get a bill for service at the old California address for $121.33.
Today is November 14, 2008 and after many letters, phone calls and explanations, Direct TV has never credited these charges.
No service was received and Direct TV will still not admit fault.
So, we waited until out 2 year contract ran out in Sept 2008 and we have two credits on our DTV account totalling $275.00. We want the money credited back to our bank account. On four different dates, 9/16/08, 10/23/08, 10/28/08 and 11/14/08 I have been told the "processing" time for these credit is 6-8 weeks from the last "transaction."
What a scam...DTV keeps our money and moves the cheese everytime I call in.
You can be sure I am calling on 1/5/08 (8 weeks from today). If I don't have my money by then...I will make another complaint.
My advise: Don't ever do business with DTV. While the reception may be good...their customer service and billing practices are deceitful.

SERVICE
TALKED WITH REP IN DEC SAID WOULD BE HOOKED IN TWO WEEKS. INSTALLER CAME IN APRIL. THE SYSTEM WORKED VERY POORLY AND SAID HE WOULD BE BACK, HE NEVER CAME BACK IN AUGUST CALL DIRECT AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE A TECH THERE THE NEXT WEEK. THE TECH NEVER SHOWED, CALLED BACK TO DIRECT. AND THEY SAID I DID NOT HAVE A REPAIR ORDER AND THEY WOULD HAVE A TECH THERE THE NEXT WEEK, HE NEVER SHOWED. CALLED TO CANCEL. THEY SAID THAT THEY DIDN'T KNOW IF THERE WOULD BE A DISCONECT FEE. LAST WEEK I GOT A$300 DISCONECT FEE. AND $, 700 FOR EQUIPMENT PLUS ALL THE PAYMENTS FOR SERVICE, ITS A $ 1500 RIPPOFF DO NOT TRUST DIRECT TV

refund
I signed up for services with DIrect TV and they came to intsall and told me that they couldnt because I had too many trees around my house. So I asked for my money back and every since they havenot refunded my credit card back its charges. They have yet to give me my money and they told me that even though it says Direct Tv it doesnot mean its them, it was an independent dealer whose number they dont seem to have on file. All they have is the dealer number (WDSL). All I want is my $47.

NFL package
I ordered Direct TV after 2 yrs. of getting letters saying they wanted me back as a customer. I signed up for a package and the equipment was installed. Shortly there after I was contacted by a rep. of the company by phone, and was told I could get their best package for 4 months for only $5 more than I was paying. Now I have NFL package which I don't remember as being mentioned. Maybe my fault, I really don't know. But I don't even watch Football. I have contacted Direct TV to now avail, they don't want to hear me or let alone remove the NFL package. So far they have proved to me they don't give a damn about their customers, just their bottom line. Rude and arrogant and non caring is all I can say about them at this point.
Don't Use Direct TV
If I wasn't retired and on a fixed income, I'd buy my way out of it in a minute.

UNFAIR
THER WAS SOME ONE POSING AS AN DIRECT TV SALES REP THAT TOLD ME THAT DIRECT WAS RUNNIG SPECIAL THAT U CAN GET SING UP WITH OUT A CREDIT CHECK THAT I HAD TO PAY $40 BUCKS UP FRONT AND FILL OUT A LIGIT DIRECT TV APP BUT AFTER A FEW DAYS AND NO CONTACT FROM THE SALES MAN OR DIRECTV I CONTACTED THEM THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD KNOW I DID ABOUT THIS SPECIAL NOW IM OUT OF $40 BUCKS THANKS ALOT DIRECT TV I WOULD NOT REC OMEND MY GRANDMOTHER TO THESE NASTY UNFAIR PRATICE THESE PEPOLE DO JUST DAMM RIGHR DISCUSSTING!!!

FLEECING OF AMERICA BY DIRECT TV BY LIES AND DECEPTION
I would like to bring to everyone’s attention as to how Direct TV is Fleecing their customers. If you are unfortunate to call a sales agent of Direct TV he/ she will give you a great story about how easy it is to sign up and end the contract and change programming without any problems. I was one of such unfortunate ones. I was told by the sale representative that you can end the contract anytime by just returning the equipment. I was also told that I can change the programming services anytime I want to. On hearing this I ordered their $64.99 package with the intention to cancel it by January and downgrade it to $29.99 by November.
The first bill came and on it I was first of all charged wrongly $100.23 in which I was charged $29.99 for NASCAR hot pass also. I never watch NASCAR; I don’t follow NASCAR and don’t even know a thing about NASCAR. Then on the side of the bill in small print I notice there is a 24 month contract which goes with the plan. I call Direct TV and after talking to a few people they take of the NASCAR but have still charged me and not given any refund and tell me and here is the SHOCKER they tell me it is my mistake.
I talk to them about the 24 month contract and the fact that the sales representative specifically told me that I can cancel at any time by just returning the equipment and get this I was told I can cancel as long as I KEEP PAYING them for 24 months. This comes to THOUSANDS of DOLLARS
To top it all it is now November and I wanted to downgrade the programming from $64.99 to $29.99 and I was told I can’t do that either as I have signed up for a Package NFL SUNDAY TICKET and as the season has started, get this; I have to KEEP PAYING them.
SO WHATEVER HAPPENS DIRECT TV HAS FOUND A WAY THAT YOU KEEP PAYING THEM. THIS IS HOW DIRECT TV HAS MADE SURE TO FLEECE AMERICANS OF THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY IN THIS TOUGH ECONOMY

Miss leading and deceptive ad advertising
Deceptive practices!!! The representative did not tell us that we had to submit for a rebate to make our payments $35.99 a month for 12 months. Then 2 days after we were hooked up we received another ad for the same thing for the price of $29.99 mo. I tried to read the fine prints with my glasses on with a magnifying glass to boot, and I still couldn't figure it all out. Six days later I told them to come get their equipment after receiving a bill for $60.00. I had quite a conversation with another representative, after which I had to cancel my credit card so they couldn't post any more transactions on it. Please, people, BEWARE!!! Plus they also added $5.99 mo. for a protection plan we did not sign for, but I am willing to bet if we have to use it, they won't pay. My experience thus far seems to give me that feeling. I wish I had listened to others and checked better. I WILL NEVER RECOMMMEND OR REFER ANOTHER PERSON TO DIRECT!!! Would be willing to join a lawsuit.
