Charges/ Bad equipment
Direct TV is a joke ! I got equipment that did not work 2 days after installation. I was told my bill would be appx $50 a month and my first bill within days was $160 and was told it takes 6-8 weeks to get the discounts promised, this was not mentioned! I told them to come get their crapy equipment and they said I still owe the rediculous amount even though I couldnt use it and said if I wanted my unsightly equpiment removed I could hire someone @_@ They were also told not to touch the other satellite I had and they cut my wires and replaced a box that didn't belong to them. I will never in this life time use Direct TV again! BBB reported !

misrepresentation
I was contacted late last fall regarding a "special offer" to have NFL Sunday for an additional charge. This special also included the premier movie channels. I was told that I had to call by a certain date to cancel. I called several days before the expiration to cancel the special. I was told that by taking advantage of the NFL special, I could no longer get the original package without paying an additional charge for something "similar". I just saw by bill online, which reflected the ADDITION of the premier movie channels. When I called I was informed that the agent that took my call cancelled only the NFL Sunday and not the premier movie channels. This added $60.00 to my bill. The customer service person could not remove the additional charges. He did make accommodation for my future bills for the year, but would/could not remove the current month's charges. I feel that the whole "Special" was a move to get additional money for what I had before the special, and was aimed at getting additional channels added to my bill. I am very disappointed in the way this company has "scammed" me. I'm sure I'm not the only person that has had this problem. BE WARNED!!!

Harrassing Phone Calls
Direct TV has been calling my cell phone number for the last 5 years about an account of another person. I have told these callers repeatedly that I do not have an account with Direct TV and never have had one. I have told them also to take my number out of their system and never to call me again. I have been told over and over that they will take my number out of their computer, but they still call me. I've talked with several supervisors, the latest was Michael in South Carolina and he assured me they would take my number off their call list for this unknown person, and the next day I got another call for the same person and for the same reason. What do I have to do to stop this harrassment?

maintance van speeding
Direct TV Service van was traveling northbound on HWY 65, between the cities of Strathmore and Lindsay California and between the hours of 7:30 am and 7:35 am. The driver was driving at speeds in excess of 80 mph. I tried to catch up to the van and was unable to. It was pulling away from me and I was up to 80 mph. I caught up to the van at a stop light and was able to get the license plate number which is 8M33318.

Contractor truck parking on private Church property
It is against the law in the city of Baltimore to park a commercial vehicle on private property on a church parking lot.
Direct TV has one of its commercial contract truck parked on a church parking lot. There is a sign that you cannot miss that states about private parking, no parking on Church property or your vehicle will be towed away by the city. The gate enclosed parking lot are for members and official church business. When attempting to contact someone via Direct Tv and as for Coporate office number one gets the run away and not any number to report. I informed the first customer represenative and even told him that the vehicle would be towed away in two hours if someone wasnot contacted. It is now 6:33P.M. Eastern srandard time as I am typing this and I called about 20 minutes ago. I informed the young man that even though I was a Direct TV customer it wasnot aboout my account and that I was calling for the president of the Church Congregation about this situation and that I had the tag number of the vehicle as well as the contractor's number. I asked to speak to a supervisor and for the number to Coporate office. He put me on hold and returned to say nervously that he had another number for me to call so that he wouldnot be involved in this mess. Well the number was another general number that you call if you are a Direct TV customer. I spoke to another represenative and proceeded to tell him about the situation, what state I resided in and the law. I asked to speak to a supervisor or the number to Coporate office. He put me on hold and then returned back and ask for the tag and contractor number so that he could send it in. He stated that they will contact the contractor, I sincerely hope so because the clock is ticking and the vehicle will be towed away. it is a shame that the contractor isnot responsible enough to respect the signs that state about private property and parking. What is more of a disgrace is when a citizen as my self and the Presisent of The Congreation is thoughtful enough to try to contact someone at Direct TV about the situation and we are giving the run around. We are not obligated to contact anyone who break the laws.

CANCELLED SET UP X3
I ORDERED DIRECT TV FOR MY HOME ADDRESS @ 2749 S 2580 W # 173 WEST VALLEY CITY, UT 84118
I THEN DECIDED TO BUY A HOUSE WARMING GIFT FOR OUR DAUGHTER IN COOS BAY, OREGON ----SO I CALLED PLACED THE ORDER AND PAID FOR IT-------THE FIRST TIME THE INSTALLER NEVER SHOWED UP----I WAS GIVEN A NUMBER OF REASONS ---THEY RESECHELED FOR MARCH 13, 2013 ----8-12 AS USUAL THEY WERE A NO SHOW SO I CALLED TO FIND OUT WHY, THEN I WAS TOLD IT WAS CANCELLED BUT NO REASON WAS GIVEN
I STARTED CALLING AT 11:00 AM TO GET IT PUT BACK --IT IS NOW 3:10 PM WHEN I GAVE UP ---ALL I WANT IS SERVICE THAT WE WILL PAY FOR BUT SO FAR TODAY I HAVE BEEN HUNG UP ON BY 2 SUPERVISORS AND A NUMBER OF AGENTS --I HAVE BEEN GIVEN 5 COUNT THEM 5 CONTACT NUMBERS BUT NO SERVICE OR HELP
AS IT APPEARS TO US THIS IS MORE THAN ENOUGH GROUNDS TO END OUR CONTRACT AT YOUR EXPENSE------PS I DO HAVE THE EMAILS FROM YOU CONFERMING HER INSTAL----OH DID I MENTION WE ARE GETTING A LAWYER

BILLING AND MISS LEADING PROMISES
Ok, here we go. I signed up with Direct TV in August 2010 during their promotional period where I got the NFL package for free and all of the premimum channels. I also go HD for life from Direct TV. When my 6 month promotional period ended I called back to set up the package that I wanted to pay for at the price I wanted to pay. I was told that I could get 3 premium channels at half price. One of the premimum channels I purchased was a sports package that has access to out of town sports channels for example Madison Square Garden (MSG) and the Yankee Entertainment Sports (YES). I purchased these channels so I could see the Knicks and the Yankees play as if I were in NYC. I was told this was possible by the rep who signed me up. This was not exactly true, even thou I get those channels and can see the pre game shows, but when it comes to the games themselves I can not see those games. My bill was $89 during the promtional I was told my new bill would be at approx $110 per month. I got my first new bill for $100 and the next bill was for $144. I was told the reason was because they show that I did not meet my requirments of the contract since I no longer allow automatic withdraw from my account, then they promptly did a auto withdraw from my account for $144. I also had a service call and was told that it would benifit me to sign up for service protection plan which is $6 a month additional. So I started out paying $89 for everything to now paying a monthly fee of approx $120 plus tax. Called the customer service line and got placed on hold for 30 minutes then hung up on after the 30 minutes. I also spoke to a supervisor who hung up on me when he had no reasonable answers for my questions. I then called back to ask to speak to that manager and was not allow to speak to him. I then called back and asked for any supervisor to call me back and did not get a call for 2 days. I finally had to call Direct TV back to address the issue. They finally said that they should not have taken $144 out of the account, but it will take 7 to 10 days for them to place the money back into the account. So what took them a few seconds to screw up my account will now take them 7 to 10 days to correct. GREAT... THANKS DIRECT TV..

Billed after account termination
I cancelled my Direct TV account to switch to FIOS and had long since been finished with the two year contract. They then billed me $450 for the equipment eventhough i sent it back promptly. They admit they received it on time etc. and are giving me the run around about needing to wait 6 to 8 weeks for a refund. I've received two mails from them that say i have a credit of $450, but that is worthless to me because i'm no longer a customer of theirs because I switched to FIOS. Again, I was no longer under that initial two year contract because I had been a customer for about three years or so. I highly doubt that I'll recieve the refund when the 6 to 8 weeks have elapsed. This is ridiculous that I should have to wait this long to find out that they're just going to give me the run around again!!! Do not sign up with Direct TV unless you never ever intend to cancel from them.

Bait & Switch Scam!
Do you need a headache?! Call Direct TV and ask about the "special" deals the company can offer you. I contacted the smooth sales person February 23rd, 2011 and asked about promotions. Before I knew it, I was going to have boxes for 3 televisions and Internet service at a 50% discount. Wow! I fell into the bait and switch scam in a matter of 20 minutes. I was leaving my cable company of three years and was getting a great bargain. All I had to do was give my debit card numbers (to keep on file-nothing else!) and the installation would be completed March 01st. Before the installation even drew near, my bank account started getting charges from AT&T and Direct TV. I called to see why my card was even being used and was told I was signed up for Automatic Debit. I decided to cancel the order of installation and have been transferred to other departments and hung up on by people from other countries. My order is still not cancelled (is somehow rescheduled for March 21st) and I realize my bank information is sitting on somebody's computer in another country. So go ahead, sign up today!!

Fraud
not even sure where to begin, 1 st they showed up 12 hours late for installation, installer did over $500 worth of damage to our surround sound and entertainment center Promised us $100 in credits. None of this has been done or resolved! on top of which they charged us for a service call that we were told was going to be no charge since the equipment was defective. This has been going on now for 3 months and we are done with them. Have filed a civil complaint against them and am contacting our local news media for assistance as well as sending this to the Today show to see if they can get this resolved. We are canceling Direct TV and going to go with Time Warner. Let them try and charge us an early termination fee! Good luck to anyone who would ever use this company, I am certain you will be ripped off and lied to!
