CANCELLED SERVICE APPT 5 TIMES
HAD APPT TODAY BETWEEN 8-12 THEY CALLED IF THEY COME AFTER 1-1.30 I SAID FINE.
THEN THEY CALL TO RESCHEDULE FOR 28TH.
AGAIN THEY CALLED TO RESCHEDULE FOR 29TH.
I CANCELLED THE ORDER.
THEY EXPECT PEOPLE TO SIT AT HOME & THEY HAVE NO VALUE FOR PEOPLES TIME.
WHT CAN YOU EXPECT IN FUTURE.

early termination fee
The worst customer service I ever had in my whole life !!! We had direct TV for 15 days. On the 15th day I called the customer service and cancelled the service. The customer service agent told us that we have 15 days to cancel and we are doing it on the last day and termination fees won't apply. We spent 30 mins. with him explaining why we are cancelling the service etc. This happened in Match, 2010
After few months, my husband's credit card was charged with $400+. I called the customer service and asked them why. They said the grace time for cancelling is 24 hrs!!! Unbelievable...I explained her that since the agent I spoke to orginally told me that there won't be any cancellation fees. Because of that I decided to cancel the service and make some other arrangements for my TV service. She bluntly told me to talk to billing dept. and transferred my call. The agent in billing dept. kept telling me the 24 hrs. notice period. I told her I wish to talk to her supervisor and discuss. And the supervisor came on the phone and asked me "This is regd. termination fee ?" and he kept on typing in his keyboard. He didn't say anything after that. I could hear the keyboard sound, which went on for 5 mins. And then, he disconnected the call. I called back again and asked for the supervisor who was talking to me. The agent refused to connect me to the supervisor and simply said "my supervisor said you will get your money". I asked her "Are you lying to me ? ". She got scared and connect me to the supervisor. The supervisor acted as if he doesn't know me at all and refused to answer me when I asked him "Were you guy who was talking to me earlier ?". He kept telling me the same thing about 24 hrs. grace period. what a worst customer service !!! I would never ever try Direct TV in my whole life !!! Stay awy from this crap...

Local Channels not in HD
I don't get my local channels in HD. The reason for this an agreement has not been signed between Direct TV and the local affiliates to broadcast in HD in my area. We had the same problem with DISH. At least DISH got it together, however we switched to Direct for the NFL package and the promise of more channels in HD.
The Better Business Bureau has given both Direct TV and DISH and 'F' for their customer non-service.

Unauthorized Charges
I cancelled my services with this company several months ago, due to numerous complaints.
They never cancelled it on their books and sent me a cancellation notice in my email just yesterday.
This morning I woke up to find several charges posted to my bank account totalling an amount over $1, 100. I have never authorized this company to deduct any of these charges. In contacting the company this morning, I was given the runaround by the representative-who even went so far as to tell me that when I made a payment using my debit card-they had the authority to use that card whenever they felt like it.
I have cancelled that debit card and am in the process of filing fraud charges with the bank-however-it will take anywhere from 5 to 30 days to get any of my money back in the account.

fraud thieves
I had talked to a representative of direct tv who made it sound so great and for the first 5 months would get it for 60 bucks, so i went ahead and got it. WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE... the rep said pay the installer the first month along with any extra installation ended up giving this crook 129 bucks...3 daqys later i recieved a letter from direct tv statinbg that i owe them 88 bucks...so i call talk to a complete moron who stated that they contract these installers and i should not have paid them. I WAS LIKE " HOW I AM SUPPOSED TO KNOW THIS" your rep told me to pay them so i did. Direct TV bills my credit card for 88 buck so i call again i think they only hire stupid people. they gave me the number to the installers to call them...i could not believe this seriously i dont contract them your company does...so i call these worthless people 15 times left that many messages and as of today still nothing from them. i called Time Warner then canceled my services with direct tv so today i get a bill for 475.01...here we go again called direct tv...wow what do you know another dumber than dirt customer service person...did nothing then had the nerve and stupidity to ask if i would like to take advantage of the new package...NO Stupid just give me the address to your legal...DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!

I have been with DirecTv for 3 years, always with the Sunday Ticket. Usually they roll it over every year without asking (which I did not have a problem with because it is a better rate). This year they did not, so I called to ask if there was anything they could do for me. The rep stated yes, she could discount it 20 per month for six months, so I said great, thanks. This was last month (Sept 15th). I went online to pay my bill yesterday, and noticed the credit was not there. I called customer service, the rep stated yes, she did see that notated in my account, and I would receive the credit, but had to transfer me to the credits department. The girl there said I had to pay my entire bill first (even with the extra 20 being added) and THEN she could credit my account. While doing this, I became disconnected. So I called today to get the credit, had to be transferred twice, then spoke to Robert in the credit dept who RUDELY informed me, nope you can't get it because its not valid. WHAT?? Asked for a super. After a LONG wait super came on and said, "sorry that wasnt a valid offer and nothing we can do" Ok, so I was lied to? No he said, we didn't lie, the reps misrepresented it. So how is this my fault? I pay over 150 a month to them for 3 years, and this is how they treat a customer? I cannot believe they will not honor this credit when it's been notated in my account several times I would be getting it. I would highly recommend not doing business with this company, and will spread the word on facebook, twitter, and within my workplace.

Early Cancellation Fees
My Mother ordered Direct TV to her home, I paid her bill the first month with my credit card, my Mom passed away within a fews months afterwards, I called and requested the direct tv to be cancelled and returned the merchandise, due to early cancellation Direct TV they sent a bill for $400.00, I explained my story that my Mom had passed away and sent them her death certificate, during all of this, Direct TV withdrew the $400.00 out of my checking without no warning, since then I have been getting the run around and waiting for my money back. Direct TV trains their employees to lie to the customers, each one of its empolyees have been giving me the 6 to 8 weeks story, were are at the end of October and I have not gotten my money back. I should write to the President of Direct TV to let them know of my situation! He might give me the 6 to 8 wks excuse too!!

additional holes in my walls
on oCT. 19, 2010, i had two tech to come to my house to do and upgrade from a standard box to a dvr reciever...the tech put two addtiional holes in my wall. They didn't have the corret equipment that they needed to complete the job, i had to provide them with my materials that my husband and i purchased, with our own money.

Today, at 3:00 pm, I was nearly killed by a Direct TV technician. He was driving eastbound on Fry Road in a white Ford Econline E-150 van, license # 8R49103 and ran the stop sign at Meridian just east of Vacaville, CA, doing an estimated 60 mph. I was going northbound on Meridian and, if I had entered the intersection, it would've likely killed me. I followed him to get the plate number so I could call 911 and report him as a dangerous driver and to report him to Direct TV. After several miles he finally had to stop at a red light at the intersection of hwy 113 and hwy 12. I got out of my car, went up to him and asked why he would do such a thing. No apology or reason was given. He simply said "Mind your own fucking business". I told him I had contacted Direct TV and he laughed, then said "I don't give a shit", then turned eastbound on hwy 12 toward Rio Vista . The driver is a white male, medium build, mid 30s, and unshaven. I'm a brand new Direct TV customer after spending 8 years with Dish. It's beyond me why a Direct TV technician with a Direct TV sign on his van door would be so careless with my life and so unapologetic.

Policies
Sure you can have a rebate...but we sure are gonna get you for the first couple of months to make that extra money. 6-8 weeks to process a rebate. They must have space monkies chiseling out ones and zeros in their database to take so long. Honestly though, it really about getting money up front.
In the additional info:
"Rebate begins 6-8 weeks after receipt of rebate form. Rebates must be submitted within 90 days of the start of your service. Timing of promotional price depends on redemption date"
