Direct TV first off all was a nightmare to cancel, and we only were canceling b/c of a new rule that we could not have a satellite on the roof. It took 3 technicians coming out, many, many many phone calls and ulcers before someone finally wrote down that we did not have a line of site and the crazy cancelation fee of $275 was reversed. Following that we had them continue to charge us even though we didn t have a receiver or a satellite and to complain and get our money back they suggested we send in a letter. NEXT 3 months after canceling we get a box sent to us asking for our HD receiver back that we PURCHASED from Best Buy. If I don't return it they are threatening to charge us more than $200 dollars even though we PURCHASED IT. They are a thieving, underhanded greedy company who only cares about charging you as much as possible. We have fought at every step and it really has almost caused us ulcers. I believe many people must give up and just accept the charges but we were so furious at their audacity. DO NOT BUY AN HD RECEIVER, do NOT sign up with Direct TV. they are the worst company I have ever dealt with. They just care about sucking you dry.
