Directlegal.com Reviews

Stay away from these scam websites
Directlegal.com is a company started by the same owner (Lorne Eisenstat) who scammed people with GoCopyright.com. When these scam sites become too well known by name, the con man changes the name...now it is DirectLegal.com. (Search "GoCopyright.com" to read about all the scams). The scam is a good one: you pay them hundreds of dollars to copyright something for you, they send an application to the U.S. Copyright office (if you are lucky) and then you find out from the U.S. Copyright office that the application is incomplete (they never submitted your work). It is a while later with all the run around you get and now you have no recourse to dispute the credit card charge. If you look on the Attorney General's website for NY (Media File Feb 9, 2001), you will find that Mr. Lorne Eisenstat is actually a professional, lifetime con man who created a fake company called "National Credit Search" in the late 90's to scam people with poor credit into thinking they would receive an unsecured credit card for the low price of a $79 application fee. None of these people received the credit cards. He had been using a PO box address in NY, he is actually from Quebec. Now he is trying his hand at scamming people into paying for copyright registration that they never do for you.
I tried using their services as I am a musician with original songs I wanted them to copyright for me. You will find when you call DirectLegal.com you will not get a live person on the phone. You leave a message, they do not call you back. They do not return emails if they contain complaints or they will tell you they are working on it to keep you at bay. Any "positive" comments you see on here are fake and written by DirectLegal.com. Don't be fooled by the BBB rating...all you have to do to get a good BBB rating is pay your dues. That's right, companies PAY to get get reviewed positively by BBB. DirectLegal.com will appear legitimate at first glance (professional website) and you will get a "confirmation" email that your order went through, was processed, yada yada, but the legitimacy stops here.
