LOOK AT DATE: 8/26/2013 Problems with Product/Service Read Complaint Details Complaint: I contracted with Dream House Windows to replace 14 (fourteen) windows in my home with new windows. The installation crew was supposed to arrive between 9 and 10am on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 and did not arrive until 1:30pm. I was told that at least 4 installers would be present to complete the installation. Only two men arrived. One of the men had only been doing window installation for about 4 weeks and was unable to complete installation himself without supervision. So it was only one installer who was able to actually complete the installation. I was told that one window at a time is removed and replaced. The installer removed all fourteen windows in my home at the same time. This is an issue because it precluded me from asking him to stop work since I did not have windows in my home. He worked installing the new windows until 11:30pm. He did the installation, in the dark, with a headlamp on. As a result, the caulking around every window is either missing or globbed on and is peeling. I withheld $2800 of the final amount due until someone returned to fix the missing/damaged caulking. In addition, one of the 14 windows does not open properly. The next day, the owner/manager named ***, called and told me that he was very sorry and would come out personally Saturday, July 13, 2013 to inspect the work and fix it. He said he would come between 9-10am and did not show up. I called the service to ask where he was and were told we'd get a call back. In the meantime, the original installer who did not properly caulk in the first place, returned to fix it. I asked the installer to call his boss so that I could speak with him. When I spoke to him, I told him that I did not want the original installer to do any more work on my home because I didn't trust his abilities. I asked that anyone else in his company come to fix it and was told by *** that it was the original installer and that was my only option. I am willing for anyone else to fix it in the company. Desired Settlement: As I made clear to ***, the owner (phone number: *************, when I spoke to him on the phone, I have no confidence in the original installer's (his name was *** ability to fix/complete the caulking in a proper way. I told him I was willing to have anyone else in his company, including himself, to come and fix/repair the caulking. I am still willing to have anyone else in his company to come and finish the caulking. I am more than willing to pay him the balance when someone else from his company comes to finish the job properly. That was made clear to him and I cannot understand why it is such an issue that when a customer is unhappy with the workmanship of one of his employees, that he is unwilling to send out someone else to fix what was incorrectly done and to complete the repair work. Business Response: To Whom It May Concern, We were in receipt of complaint #: ******* as of 7/18/2013. Ms. ********* windows were installed on Tuesday July 9th,2013, the installers did arrive late, and did not complete the installation until after dark. The next day *** ******* was contacted because she withheld $2800.00 of her balance due. *** ******* explained that she did not have an opportunity to inspect the installation. It was agreed that we would send someone out the following Saturday coinciding with her schedule, as she works every day and does not get home until 8 pm. The appointment was scheduled for Saturday July 13th,2013 between 9 am and 10 am. It was scheduled for the crew to arrive inspect the job with *** ******* in the daylight and make any necessary repairs. At no point did ********** express concern or displeasure with the quality of work that the installation crew performed, at that point she explicitly stated that she didn't have an opportunity to inspect the work, how would she know if she was happy with the results or not?! There was never a conversation regarding who would arrive, Dream House only stated that a crew would arrive. Once the crew showed up, she refused to allow them perform any work because they were the same installers. She said "This morning I had an opportunity to look at the job, and was not satisfied with the caulking, why would Dream House send the same crew out" there would be no way for Dream House to know that she was unhappy with the quality of work performed, therefore why would Dream House send out a different installation crew?! Needless to say in an effort to appease the customer she did speak with me, Mr. ***** ******** I agreed to send out a different installation crew the following Saturday at her convenience. *** ******* subsequently cancelled that appointment and we have been unable to contact her regarding a service appointment ever since. All of **********'s windows are installed, Dream House has fulfilled their contractual obligations. Per our agreement ********** has a lifetime warranty, if she is unhappy with the caulking we would be more than happy to address her issues. Dream House is more than willing to meet the "Customers Desired Resolution". Dream House considers this complaint to be resolved and closed. Dream House Windows is owned by Firas and his brother Lorenzo. They have their entire office lying for them to customers and suppliers. Other contractors in the NJ area are already talking about how they are out of business because of no money. They all drive expensive cars, have beautiful homes, have girlfriends and wives with expensive jewelry and do not pay their suppliers or their own subcontractors. They don't even give refunds to their homeowners who deserve refunds. Do the research on this company. They are poison in your veins. They will never return calls and they have hired an answering service to take their calls. I guess the answering service must be family, because they don't have the money to pay for an answering service. The banks have closed their accounts. Do your homework on the area banks and ask for the bank manager. They will tell you to RUN, RUN far away because they have bounced more checks than a child in a ball pit! I would RUN, RUN far away because they take cash and check deposits from homeowners who NEVER SEE THEIR PRODUCT on their homes! There are currently 5 known customers who have given money to them and the supplier has their order, but Dream House has NOT paid for the supplier and cannot get the order until they pay cash. Those 5 are just this year. There are more from November and December that have not see anything from them. They have written several bad checks in the $20K range too!!!!!!! They will sweet talk, and lie and be so deceiving. They are hanging on by a thread and one day they will be wearing the silver bracelets that they so deserve for FRAUD. How about that? Wouldn't Firas and Lorenzo and staff look great in silver bracelets...the newest fashion trend for LIARS and people who STEAL MONEY from innocent people. I have no idea how anyone could right anything positive about this company. They cannot pay for anything. Next thing you know is that they will try to use something valuable to barter with to their suppliers.....oh wait, I think that they tried that from what I heard through the grapevine. Just ask Firas and his wife and Lorenzo. They always say that their money is good....um, what money. They have no money. DO NOT ACCEPT CHECKS FROM THEM. They cannot even pass a credit report for credit. Go ahead, try to see if they have credit with any suppliers for siding or windows. Ask them who they get their products from and call those people! The suppliers will tell you the truth. Trust me, i've called the suppliers and found out the truth. They will lie to you and blame the suppliers. I do not know how they can sleep at night. They believe their own lies! They are lying and saying that they have a warehouse full of siding and windows. They don't even have a warehouse! They lie all of the time! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. If you do your research, this has been going on for years...2009 until present. They have been scamming homeowners and suppliers for years. NOW, IT HAS CAUGHT UP TO THEM. If I were an employee, I would RUN, RUN FAST. If I were looking for a contractor, I WOULD RUN, RUN FAR AWAY. If I were a supplier, I WOULD RUN, RUN FAR AWAY AND NEVER LOOK BACK.
