I have been purchasing the six packs of Edy's Strawberry Fruit Bars for several years. I have had a gastric bypass several years ago and am undergoing chemotherapy so I cannot keep a lot in my stomach. I eat the fruit bars to keep hydrated. My husband noticed that Edy's came out with a 12-pack box that was a bit cheaper than buying two 6-pack boxes. The bars in the 12-pack box were disgusting. They were a different size, shape, color, texture and tasted like licorice. They were completely inedible. I even went to a different grocery store 50 miles away to see if it was just a manufacturing glitch. It was not. The 6-pack bars are completely different than the 12-pack bars. I contacted Edy's and they came up with all kinds of stupid reasons. I told them that I could prove there were differences including digital photographs. They told me that they changed packaging and that the 12-pack bars had printed wrappers and the 6-pack bars did not. Both bars have the clear cellophane wrappers however, the 6-pack bars have a thinner wrapper that has a thinner crimped bar on the sealed edge. They thaw a bit after being out of the freezer after 5-10 minutes. The 12-pack bars can sit out for an hour and never thaw. They are absolutely disgusting and Edy's will not take me seriously. This really is disconcerting to me. I told them that I am a pathologist and can measure and describe something down to a tenth of a micron and they basically told me I am nuts!! I would love to stop buying their product but I cannot keep anything else down - what a bunch of jerks!!
