I purchased a warranty less than a year ago for the Nissan Quest I had bought. When a vehicle has more than 90, 000 miles on it, a warranty is a good idea. Recently, the timing belt broke and caused engine damage. I did not worry because I felt I was covered by the power train warranty. I trusted the salesman and the dealership that sold me the car. My claim has been denied because the warranty covers timing chains but not timing belts. It may cost $2500 to repair the vehicle. I am not a mechanic, but a customer. I had no idea that a timing belt would be so different than a timing chain. The dealer sold me the car knowing that at 105K miles, the belt should be replaced, but did not replace it before selling the van, nor said anything to me about that. This is so unfair. I pray that the company will reconsider.
