Pools by York was formed to better serve our clientele and the community. In 1980, with the opening of York Brothers Lawn Care, Kevin York began mowing lawns. He soon discovered his clientele wanted someone who could do more and began offering landscaping and lawn renovation services. They then branched out into snow removal and house painting. It was nearly ten years later that Kevin again heard the rumbling of his customers. They wanted someone to help with their home remodeling needs, bathroom and kitchen projects, room additions and basement finishes, wine cellars and much more. Kevin began learning the ins and outs of construction and soon obtained his General Contractors License. He consistently helps clients create the space they desire. MY Contracting LLC was created to handle all residential remodel and additions, rehabs as well as commercial construction and tenant finishes.

In 2006, urged (strongly) by his wife Patti, Kevin began to design their dream outdoor living area at their own home. An outdoor kitchen, fire pit, landscaping, water feature and patio cover were included in addition to the upper level screened in porch. The main attraction was to be a pool. Having not installed a pool before, Kevin did his research and decided on a fiberglass pool and began looking for a pool contractor to install it. He soon discovered the lack of area installers. This prompted him to call the vendors directly. After some discussion and factory training, he decided to install his pool himself. The project was a success and with some minor encouragement from the vendors, Kevin soon opened Pools By York, Inc. which continues to install and service fiberglass pools, spas, tanning ledges and all aspects of an outdoor living area.

The landscape company was sold in 2012. Kevin now concentrates on what he enjoys. Pools by York employs an Office Manager and staff, Operations, Production and Service Managers, also a sales and design team, full time/year-round installation crews and service technician. They enjoy working with clientele to create and maintain their homes and back yard environments.
