Flixaddict.com Reviews

Ms
The site clearly states that they offer a 5 day trial period and that their card is going to be charged if they don't cancel this service within 5 days. Many of the complaints I've read (over numerous review sites( are caused by a failure to read the terms of the site. This information isn't hidden in any way; it's right there when you elect the free trial. FREE TRIAL. There is NO free tiered service as many people (Janice1 is one that has posted on several review sites FYI) are suggesting. Quite clearly the same people who are trying to cancel this service ON REVIEW SITES are not going to be happy when they keep seeing monthly charges. It is one thing for a site to receive negative ratings when they screw up or ARE defrauding customers, but it is another for a site to be considered a scam because people DON'T READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. It is very plainly stated that it is a TRIAL and there will be charges after 5 days. That said, some complaints have suggested that their cards were charged immediately after signing up for the free trial (which IS fraud OR someone made a mistake somewhere) and some have complained that their cards continued to be charged after they tried to cancel the service. ( It is true that some sites will take advantage of these free trial offers and are truly fraudulent, I'm less certain that this is true of this site) . There does seem to be a bit of "bait and switch" going on; suggesting they offer certain TV shows and movies that suddenly disappear once the site has been accessed and/or paid for. I'd be wary if those complaints are true--but it is also possible that the advertised information is simply out of date, and while the show/movie once was available it no longer is--this happens even with Netflix, which is a very respectable site. Some of THOSE complaints regarding cancellation stated that it was virtually impossible to reach customer service. I don't know though, after seeing so many people trying to cancel this service on REVIEW sites; sites that have nothing directly to do with this service, I have to wonder how fair these ratings really are. If people don't read the terms of a service, and then don't bother to figure out that the site they are using to request cancellation or a refund has nothing whatsoever to do with the service, then how can their complaints be considered fair? I will also point out that many of these complaints are scattered over several years, and if the company was as bad as suggested I would expect to see more complaints. A few of the reviewers were fair enough to come back onto the review sites and follow up on their complaints, stating that once they got hold of someone in customer service, they did receive a full refund--even if the error was theirs (misunderstanding the terms or missing the deadline of the 5 day trial period). Most of the time people aren't diligent enough to follow up, so those that do are appreciated. I do NOT work for the company and I have not used the service. I am basing my statements strictly on what I've read over many review and complaint sites. I always check out an unknown company before providing my card info. I would be interested in updated (and fair) information. I do suggest using a prepaid card for this site so that if they do continue to fraudulently charge the card the process to terminate is simple.

I persisted and got a promise of a refund
I was looking for a TV program and was directed to their site. I took advantage of the 5 day free trial because it was the only way I could access their site. They don't have TV shows, only movies and I had heard of none of them so did not take it any further. Of course when I get my credit card statement they have billed me US$39.99, over Can$42.00 even though it said they wouldn't. Telephoned and went through their long menu to be told no refunds under any circumstances as I should have cancelled within the 5 days. Called my credit card company but their discrepancy department was closed (it was a Sunday) and the lady suggested I tried one more time and ask to speak to someone. If I got no joy then call credit card company back on the Monday. On the second attempt I did speak to an associate who did say she would refund my card within 5 days. She was polite but sounded totally fed up as if she dealt with this type of complaint continuously . If this happens to you persevere. I haven't received my refund yet but will definitely take it further if they don't keep to their word. These companies hope you won't be persistent and will just accept it is your own fault for not cancelling.

False advertisement
flixaddict.com has a free sign up that says you will not be billed for a free trial. 5 days later you are charged 39.95 for content that is unknown. When you call them because you feel that you are miss charged they say they do not refund money. I was miss lead by the free sign up and now I have been rob of 40 dollars. I will have my credit card fight it. But am unsure at this time if I am obligated to pay for something I did not intend to pay for. Completely dissonest business. Please look into this none sense. T

SCAM- charges your credit card when they say they won't!
This site says you can get free movies for your computer. They have different prices for different access levels. You must give your credit card to try it, but it says you will not be charged if you select the "free" level. I did this, and of course, had never heard of any of the free movies, so I never paid for any additional level access. I figured you'd have to pay for the top level to get any movies you've ever even heard of, much less anything you'd want to watch. Of course, my credit card was charged for 39.95. When you call their number, you get a recording offering to cancel, or if you have questions about your billing. That just gives you a recording saying you were informed they'd charge you after 5 days (which you weren't supposed to be for the free level.) They even rig the numbers to fool you (like you hit yes I want to cancel, and it says "Are you sure you want to cancel? if you don't want to cancel, press 1" since they figure you are already about to hit 1. If you can finally find your way through their menu for an option to speak with a representative, it hangs up on you or keeps you on hold and then hangs up on you.
