Terrible site. NOT kid friendly. NEVER join.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I've been a member of the FooPets community for over two years. When I started, I would've recommended this place to anybody I know. It was a fun and happy community. The players were nice, there were a variety of things to do such as breed and play with your FooPets, or the older model of pets, called Pokeys. You could make "graphics" which are computer generated pictures, and sell them to other members as profile pictures and banners. There was also an active Role play forum that always had somebody on it. The place was overall a fun place to be, and it was completely FREE. Then Foo started going downhill. They sold their company to Rivet Games. Rivet is a TERRIBLE owner, honestly. They changed the site from free, to pay to play. Now you have to pay at least five dollars a month to play on this site that they've ruined. Lots of members were forced to leave their FooPets accounts behind. They put a stop to breeding your "Pokey" pets, and reserved that for "foo's" only. They took away our rights to posting pictures in the forums, and on top of that, they nixed role playing.

Onto other things, their customer service is slow. I've had two support tickets open for days, and nobody has gotten to them.

Their management is terrible. Instead of getting paid employees to monitor the site, they have "ambassadors" which are the people who are over 18 and have an account. They are specially selected to keep watch over the "kiddies". These people, as you can expect, are EXTREMELY biased. They favor the adult members, as well as the members that have been their longer, over the others. It was a nightmare when they were in charge of suspensions. I was suspended for NO reason. "Egging a person on" in a "fight" when all I did was ask her to leave my thread.

Next, if you're considering letting your child on this site, I wouldn't do it, and this is coming from a "child" . . . not an overprotective parent. I had to make the choice to remove myself from the game because of the horrible community within. I was getting yelled at over things I didn't do, and when I brought this up, my topic was locked, and apologies never given. Adults on this site don't take into account that there are children around, and can be quite RUDE and downright immature. One day, the site went down, so I mad a suggestion that they give better warning for scheduled maintenance, or at least send out an email, but instead I get people jumping down my throat with comments like "What do you want them to do? tattoo it to your forehead LOL?" from ADULTS. The children aren't the brats here, the adults are, and if you don't want your child in tears at the end of the day, I'd advise you don't let them on.

Foo claims to be a family site, when really, some "well respected" members have lured kids to tinychat (mind you, the people luring are children themselves, proving it by going on mic/camera) and cursing each other out, calling names, and other terrible things. The harassment never ceases. On top of that, since you're being forced into a membership fee, you'll be paying for the virtual currency, FooDollars. You get five a day for ClubFoo (the 4.99 package) or 10 a day for Club Foo+ (the $10 package) This currency can go towards buying your own virtual pet, or items to put in their scenes (little rooms your pets play in) Be careful if your children start "trading" with other members though. Your child could send over their hard earned money to a new person, and the person can "scam" them and never send the pet they were promised. Or the other way around, they wouldn't send the money after receiving the pet.

As you can see, this site, in comparison, is like a floxglove flower. They're well presented, and look darling, but poisonous. Deadly. If you value your children, and if you value yourself (if you're thinking of joining) DO NOT. This game is highly addictive, and obsessive. People have told others theres a place in hell for them, OVER CALLING THEIR VIRTUAL PET STUPID. Is this a place you want to be? To send your child? I sure hope not. This is not a place to go. Honestly, it will drive you insane.
