AVOID ASPEN DENTAL AT ALL COSTS BECAUSE YOU CANNOT AFFORD IT AND THEY COULD NOT CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR PAIN OR YOUR NEEDS. My son has had dental pain for 6 days. Last week, I called Aspen Dental because his regular dentist could not see him and he was not able to sleep at night at all. I called the referral line on 2/14/2008 and was on hold over 20 minutes then spent another 20 min. on with the girl whom answered. She asked the right questions (which tooth, how much pain, etc) and assured us that Aspen would treat my son on Monday (today). Instead of any care for his painful tooth he was told that he had 16 cavities and needed 3 root canals and and caps that would cost him over $7000 in dental care but after insurance it would be only$4663.00. (He was just at his regular dentist 6 months ago.) A s a 23 year old with school loans he of course said "just pull them" and they agreed to do so 2 days from now. They never addressed the painful tooth and sent him home with nothing for his pain. When I complained about this I was told that it was "Your son's fault for not reporting his pain" As a nurse I am fully aware that it is the clinician's responsibility to ask the patient their level of pain and not make assumptions regarding it. The office manager stated, "He did not look like he was in pain." That is classic ignorance. This aggressive financial approach to developing a total treatment plan is unprofessional and can only drive people further away from receiving appropriate dental care. As a Nurse for 35 years and a business owner, it is my advice that you avoid Aspen at all costs. My son's well-being was the last thing on their mind and the fact that he has excellent dental insurance was like a gold mine to them.

NEVER CALL ASPEN EVEN IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION.
