I will never again own a GE refridgerator, even if it were free. My side by side is 2, repeat TWO years old and cost $1300. One year and One day old, the water dispenser died and cost $150 to repair. I did not use sears for the repair as SEARS was the crooks that earn a living off the extended warranties for these junkie appliances.

Now, the thing is two years old and I have been without a refrigerator since 2/28. It is now 3/5. It seems that GE is slow to issue parts to the non sears repairman and we're still waiting. I'm told it will take approximately another week. I have a family to cook for, but that seems to matter to no one but me.
The fan/blower is shot and the major board, meaning the only thing that works is the light bulbs inside.
20 years ago, GE meant quality.

I had just grocery shopped and now lost a full refrigerator & freezer of food, and now eat out every night or shop everyday after working 10 hours and make no leftovers. I think with extra costs by now, I could have bought another refrigerator.
