I bought my wife some hoop earrings from Gordon's Jewelers online. She loved them, but the clasps were weak and after only two days of wear one fell out and was ran over in a parking lot.

Call me crazy, but I wouldn't think it would be a big deal for a jeweler, especially one the size of Gordon's, to sell a single earring...but then again maybe their manufacturing facility can only make even numbers. I was spurned by customer service, which in America these days is more like a value center...you get the amount of service that the profit you bring the business supports.
