I received a collection notice from the National Credit Audit Corporation about a past due balance of $15.96 for Gourmet magazine. I contacted Gourmet magazine directly and was told they never referred my account to any collection agency. Unfortunately i shad already sent a copy of the check to the corporation to prove I had already sent the payment. Now i am stressing out that some false company has a copy of my checking account number.
