Green Card Lottery Reviews

Ria Wiid March 15, 2010
Non-disclosure
I recently responded to a pop-up on a website I was visiting for a greencard lottery. Not sure that it felt right I aborted the process. Two days later I receive a telephone call from a very slick telesales lady: the call was unsolicited and no explanation was given of what the objective of the call was, or how long it would take. At the time I was standing in the kitchen of my rented apartment in Johannesburg - miles away from my home in Ireland, and clocking up roaming charges. Again I was curious, and then the lady - in the most ferocious way - lead me through a process and before I knew it she had my credit card details. SHE NEVER DISCLOSED THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS PRIOR TO THE CONVERSATION. This is unethical and improper. I had NO way of knowing the full extent of what I was letting myself in for. Immediately after the telephone call (preying on vulnerable people) I contacted USAFIS to cancel the transaction. It was here that I discovered that I am not entitled to a refund! What utter sharks - what appalling customer strategy! A very condescending, patronising individual called to tell me that I cannot get a refund - he was unable to respond to my question 'why was I not given the full picture - i.e. that this transaction cannot be cancelled?'. This is not sound business practice.
