When using Halifax International Payment System you'll need a Swift or Iban number of the local bank at receivers end. Can take up to 3 weeks for the transfer to complete. Halifax unable to confirm transfer successful until confirmation from the overseas bank therefore a long wait again. Some Halifax staff seem unaware of the transaction process and the "International Transfer Team" are not easily available. Overall I would advise using ay other quicker service as the Halifax one is very clumsy and certainly not the 2 days they advertise.
