If you're planning a Priest and checking WoW Forever Gold ahead of launch, the class changes deserve a closer look. Beta started September 17, 2026, followed by the Priest deep dive on September 30 and overview trailer on October 7. As of October 7, beta is scheduled to finish October 21. Name reservation runs October 27 through November 3. PC launch follows November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST, with new raids scheduled for December 9. That's the schedule, not a promise that every talent stays untouched. Testing adjustments are still possible, so don't treat today's build as your permanent setup.
Know Your Talent Checkpoints
Talents start at level 10. The familiar 11, 21, and 31-point milestones remain, with a new 16-point choice. Here's where the new spells sit, so you can plan your next few points.
Baseline Spells Matter Too
1. Outside talents, every Priest learns Fear Ward and Devouring Plague at level 20.
2. Divine Spirit arrives at level 30; Shadow Word: Death follows at level 32.
Healing Gets More Decisions
Discipline looks less like a collection of passive bonuses now. Soul Warding reduces Shield's cooldown and Mana cost, but requires Improved Power Word: Shield. Penance gives you a two-second channel for damage or healing, with a 12-second cooldown. Pick the target carefully. Renewed Hope rewards healing through Weakened Soul and shortens its remaining duration, while Divine Aegis turns critical heals into a 12-second absorb that doesn't stack. Holy takes a different route. Binding Heal patches you and your target together in 1.5 seconds, without a cooldown. Handy when you're hurt too. Prayer of Mending lasts 30 seconds, triggers from damage or non-periodic healing, and jumps within 20 yards until it has healed five times. It requires Spirit of Redemption. Litany of Light refunds some Mana when you change healing spell names between casts. Meanwhile, Prayer of Healing can reach another character's party and pets. Multiple Priests can maintain Renew on one target, and Shield no longer cuts a Warrior's incoming-damage Rage gain. You'll still visit a city trainer for talent changes, including Legacy talents. Dual Specialization opens at level 40.
Shadow Has Clear Tradeoffs
1. Shadowform halves Shadow Mana costs and permits non-healing spells, including non-Shadow options.
2. Devouring Contagion transfers Plague after death within five yards, preserving its remaining duration.
Pick Your Race Carefully
Race still matters: Gnomes gain Contingency Plan, while Humans get Divine Grace. If you're comparing cheap WoW Forever Gold before launch, leave room to reconsider your build as testing continues.
