dissatisfied customer
September 15, 2008
Dear Home Depot Manager:
On July 7, 2008 I purchased Storm Windows from your Duncanville store. A couple of weeks later they were installed. I was very dissatisfied with the service that I received. I don't think that I received the windows that I ordered. My sales consultant was Ronald W. Brett and his sales manager was Rusty Gates. They came to my home and demonstrated two different type windows. I was told (of course) that I would get the better one, which I didn't.
I called Mr. Brett and told him that the windows were not doing what he and Mr. Gates showed me. He told me that he would send someone out to show me how they work. The Project Manager nor the installer could not get the windows to do what Mr. Brett and Mr. Gates showed me.
Mr. Brett promised to be here during the installation, but he didn't, he promised a 12 month no interest no payment which he wrote on the contract and I didn't get it or what was promised.
I have shopped at your stores for many years. I am going to get a loan, pay off my account with you and close it. It seems that your representatives are only interested in a customer signing a contract than satisfying the customer.
Dissatisfied Customer
Wanda Proctor
P.S. I didn't know that I had to e-mail my complaints.

Scam and cheating
I was shopping in the store w/ a friend and had to rush to the hospital in his car to see my grandma at the ER room. When I came back several hours back from the hospital, my car was towered by Home Depot. The store manager had no apology and was very rude. I was directed to call three different numbers which nobody answered. I still had no clue where is my car. How outrage this is!!!
Home Depot ***!!! Will never ever shop at Home Depot again!!! Watch out your car on Home Depot parking lot while shopping!!!

no service
Recently I visited this store two different days to purchase a lawn trimmer and a shovel handle. I waited in the department for 20 min or more and no one showed up. I feel that I should not have to search the store for assistance. The first visit as I walked down the mail aisle there were at least 5 employees standing around talking. I approached them and suggested they have someone go to that department and be available for customers.
They shrugged their shoulders and I left.
The second visit I approached a service counter after waiting another 25 min and asked if there was a complaint department. One of the gentlemen said he would get a in touch with the "duty manager". I told him that I had a doctor's appointment and had to leave. He gave me a website address re Your Opinion Counts.
I had to travel 1/2 hour to get to Home Depot and then home. That is two round trips. Perhaps I should go to a competitive store when I need equipment. This has happened before to me and we did search for an employee. I do not feel that I should have to do this and I want you to be aware of this problem.
Thank you Gerald Ayres

Terrible experience
The door and sidelights were installed in March, 2008. I was told the glass would be re-ordered and replaced immediately. I have been to the store 4 or 5 times, only to be told that it would be ordered right then, which didn't happen. Then I was told that the original salesperson wasn't in that day, but she would call me the next morning. That didn't happen.
So, I called customer service and was told that they just ordered the glass and it should be in within a week and would be installed within 48 hours. That has been over 2 weeks. Meanwhile, I'm paying for an expensive, damaged door.

Bad return policy
On July 19, 2008 my husband and I purchased $190.26 worth of items at the Blairsville Home Depot. We also opened a Home Depot credit card that day and were given $30.00 off the purchase. Our purchase included 4 hanging flower baskets at $11.97 each (this item did not include a plant or flower, it is an empty basket). It was several weeks later that I used the baskets and found that one of them was damaged and it would not hold the weight of the plant and soil so I put that one aside and planed to return it during the coming week.
On August 19, 2008 I took the defective hanging basket back to HomeDepot. The store was practically empty and there were no other customers at the returns counter. As I approached the associate she looked at me and turned around to talk to another associate concerning her cash drawer. She stood with her back to me for several minutes before I said, excuse me, may I ask a question. She replied, Ill be with you in a minute. I waited approximately 5 minutes before she asked me what I needed. I told her I purchased the basket and would like to exchange it for one that was not broken and that I had my receipt. She told me I could not exchange it, she would have to do a refund and I could purchase another one. I agreed and she processed my refund. On my way to the garden center I noticed my refund was for only $10.08 plus .71 cents tax. I though maybe being the end of the season, the item had been reduced, but I found upon paying for the replacement that it was still $11.97 plus .84 cents tax (total $12.81). I went back to returns and asked the same associate, why did I pay $11.97 for this item but my refund was for
$ 10.08? She pointed to the part of my receipt that states MUST RETURN ALL ITEMS FOR A FULL REFUND. I told her I had not asked for a refund; I asked to exchange a defective item for one exactly like it. She told me that she would have to get a manager to void out the return and do a new one if I wanted my dollar back. One of the managers came over and the two of them put their heads together with their backs to me and the manager turned around and said the reason I wasnt given a full refund was because of the $30.00 customer satisfaction discount we received when we made the purchase. I told them I agreed and that I had forgotten the discount and said if I was told that originally I would have understood but I was told that I had to return all items to receive the full refund amount. The returns associate repeated again, we dont do exchanges only refunds. I had spent approximately 30 minutes doing what should have taken 5 minutes and decided to leave the store without my full refund. When I arrived home I checked my receipts and found that the 30% discount had nothing to do with the amount of refund I was given, the receipt shows MAX REFUND VALUE $40.32/4, which is $10.08 each, exactly the amount I was refunded minus sales tax.
It is hard for me to believe that Home Depots return policy is that every item on a receipt must be returned to exchange a defective item! Are you trying to tell me that if we had purchased nails and lumber and used them to build a deck that the only way I could get a full refund for my hanging basket would be to take the deck apart and return ALL OF THE ITEMS?

Have not delivered my appliances for the last 60 days
Ordered a Washer, Dryer and a Dish Washer from Home Depot, Santa Clara around 60 days ago.
They called twice to say it was back ordered and delayed it by about 6 weeks and then finally when the merchandise was supposed to arrive today (Sep 10th), no call or delivery till 1:30PM; so I call the delivery number and they tell me that there is a mix up and THEY DONT KNOW WHERE THE APPLICANCES ARE!!!
The person who spoke to me was very rude and then he gives me a manager's number - Cindy with 3P delivery company who never returned my call and I still HAVE NO INFORMATION ON THE APPLICANCES FOR WHICH I PAID A GOOD 3000 dollars 60 DAYS AGO!!!
WORST SERVICE EVER, WILL NOT ONLY CANCEL THE ORDER BUT WILL NEVER SHOP FROM HOME DEPOT AGAIN.

Rebate not sent
Home Depot offers $60.00 rebates for delivery of their appliances. I have bought twice but never received the rebate check. The rebates were mailed the same day as the purchases so they can't claim it was late. I will not deal with Home Depot in the future. I suggest that you do not fall for deceptive practices either. I have found Lowes to be more honest. Also I noticed that the products Lowes sell are first line, and not seconds.
I hope this helps, JTR.

Flooring contractor
Home Depot unlike other major home improvement companies subcontracts all of their flooring installations out to a company named USIG (US INSTALLATIONS GROUP) and this company hires in contractors at a very below average price per square foot. Then on a regular basis (every week) their accountant conveniently forgets to send one or two of their installers checks for the work performed. USIG relies on unsuspecting contractors who haven't yet heard of the shortcomings of others to take the place of the disgruntled contractors and repeats the process of holding contractors pay for various bogus reasons. USIG usually ends up keeping the contractors last check or two for no reason other than the contractor refuses to continue working for them. Once these contractors are disgruntled they are displaying poor installation tactics, therefore you likely have less than a 50% chance of getting a quality flooring installation done. I suggest you use a local retail flooring store or one who advertises on t.v. regularly for installation services. They will most likely use an in house contractor which they oversee and pay regularly, therefore prompting a quality install.

gift card
Last Father's Day my daughter purchased a $40 gift card for me at Home Depot. I lost it before I had a chance to use it. With my daughter's receipt of purchase in hand I explained to the local store that I lost the card. They refused to replace it saying that there was no way they could trace whether or not the card had been used. I wrote to the store manager and the company CEO explaining my loss including a copy of my daughter's receipt, but neither of them has responded to my registered letter. Beware of purchasing a gift card from Home Depot: Do not lose it or you will be out!
