poor customer service
I was in Hot Topic today and saw they had a sign on their jewerly, "Jewerly/Hairgoods buy one get one half off" I found a necklace I wanted and right next to the one I picked my daughter saw a Justin Beiber one she wanted so I picked it up, since I assumed it was buy one get one half off. I went to pay, of course they do not have registers that show the customer what they are being charged until after the sale and they get their receipt. I looked at it and saw I was charged full price for both, I went back and asked the girl told me that licensed jewerly did not count in the half off. I told her I got it off that rack and on the sign it never said excludes licensed jewerly. I told her if I had known I never would have bought it she told me there was nothing she could do. Upon leaving I saw on the back it said returns with orginial reciept and items must be in new unused condition. She never offered to do a return just handed me the necklace and said oh well. I was going to go back and return it but decided against it. I just will not shop there again. I tossed my hot topic card in a trash can. This store is known for employees who spend more time chatting with each other then helping customers. I was there before to buy body jewerly and asked for help and was told one minute, then after five I just left and went to spencer's instead. Spencer's has the most amazing employees, always willing to help with a smile and never treat customers as an incovience. Hot Topic in Queens Center is not a friendly place to shop. They have lost a good customer to spencer's

Stay away
I just received an online order from Hot Topic .com. My daughter tried on her new earrings and within 3 hours they broke. (she's 18)I immediately e-mailed and then called HT to ask about an exchange and was told repeatedly that if the package was opened they could not offer an exchange. They broke in under 3 hours for God's sake. I just want a new pair. No talking to customer service. just like conversing with a robot.

Bad service
I just recieved an order from HotTopic.com. My daughter had her earrings no more than 3 hours when they broke. I contacted HT and was told repeatedly that I couldn't return them for an exchange because she wore them. I could see if I was trying to return it because she didn't like them. But they were BROKEN. She just wants a new pair.
