Went to La romantica in Durbanville Saturday night for a special occasion. Waited 30 minutes for a waiter to take drinks orders - after we approached the manager twice and requeted service. Attitude of manager and waiter was terrible. When food eventually arrived the waiter dropped one plate - another wait. In the meantime the waiter was missing again and we once again approached the manager for drinks. We were offered dom pedros to make up for the bad service but we declined it as the children were already sleepy and we did not want to wait any longer. This was no isolated incident as the two tables on either side of us feld exactly the same and became quite vocal about the complete lack of service. What these people don't understand is that an evening out is not only about the food - it is the whole experience that counts and service makes out a very important part of this. First time ever I did not pay any tip. Paying the bill was a grudge purchase in itself.
