I was at the Laguna Niguel Regional Park on Nov. 8, 2009 at 3pm with my family. I brought my camera to take pictures of my nephew, his wife and 3 children. As I was taking their photo, the park ranger came up to me and told me I was not allowed to take photographs at the park. I told him I was not a professional photographer and that I was merely taking pictures of my nephew's family. He ordered me to stop. We left the park very disappointed and confused. As we were leaving, we noticed children being photographed at the playground, yet the ranger did not ask them to stop photographing. I later contacted OCparks and filed a complaint. I was contacted to let me know they received my letter, and I have not heard from them since. I left a follow-up messaged but was ignored. I simply asked, if cameras are not allowed, why aren't there signs posted stating cameras are prohibited? I feel I was treated unfairly, discriminated and embarrased. I will not return to that park again, nor will my family.
