Bought Toyota new in 2007. 500 miles Check engine lights come on. Engine stalls a few times whilst running. Long story short driving in the rain it stalls. Check engine light came on again brought it in was told I to replace the entire engine. What the ...? Fine it's under 20k miles and I have the platinum extended 'just add gas and drive warranty' nope doesn't cover shit.

Anyway it appears that the tires just went flat and the batteries just died.

What the hell has happened to Toyota my last two drove well with hardly any problems for over 150k miles. It appears that in the last 10 years quality and service has gone to hell. I'm told that this is only an issue with the one manufactered in the US, not sure if I believe that.

Anyone coming to the same conclusion that Toyota is to be avoided?
