My husband and I hired Legacy Home Loans to represent us with a loan modification. After paying $2500 up front and 6 months later they decide to cancel their services with us and not grant us our money back. They made promises and guarantees that they would be able to get us our loan modified. They said the reason why they decided to cancel with us was because I had asked them too many questions like "is your company attorney based?" and that these kind of questions made them uncomfortable in dealing with us. Right after they decided to cancel their service I called my bank to stop all communications with them only to find out that my modification was canceled due not receiving current documents by Aug 8, which Legacy Home Loans said they took care of. I have email documentation from the co owner of Legacy confirming that she received our emailed documents on July 30. I am currently seeking legal advise and hope this does not happen to anyone else. Be very careful when hiring a modification company. We have since hired an attorney to represent us.
