i have recently recieved numerous debt collection notices stating I owe a video store $279.76 apparenly i have 5 overdue dvds that were months late

i can vouch for 2 that were 1 week late but the other 3 i had NEVER rented, and they are certain I did, I no what i have rented and was not that!!

can a video store charge so much on late fees?? i think that amount is CRAP!!! id rather just puchase the dvds!!
