Prescription Sunglasses (Defective Lenses)
Summer 2008 I purchased regular prescription glasses and a pair of prescription sunglasses at the LensCrafters in the Cherryvale Mall in Rockford. Within weeks of purchase, I noticed what appeared to be stress fractures in the lenses of the sunglasses. I hadn't even cleaned the glasses yet. They had been sitting in their hard shell container in my car. My belief is that the lenses were subjected to stress when put into the frames. I took them back to the store and was told that I had scratched the lenses and they would not replace the lenses. That moment they lost my business, my children's business and anyone else I can talk sense into. My local Optometrist appreciates LensCrafter's poor customer service.

On April 24th LensCrafters charge my credit card for 274.95 for a prescription.for glasses. On April 30th someone called me and said that the Lab could not fill. it. I told
them to put a charge back. It is June and they have not done anything. My bill is due. I did not buy anything so why did they put a charge on my card first?.

gemoneybank
I went to lenscrafters for my glasses they cheated me on the price saying my insurance only paid $35 towards my glasses. My payments for the glasses coverage is more then $35 a year. My employers insurance rep said I shouldnt have had to pay over $50 for my glasses. I was charged $347 which they financed with Ge Moneybank. I made payments for a year and a half when I started getting late charges and phone calls that my payment was late. I would get a phone call 3 days after I got the bill in the mail. I was told my balance was $427 after making payments for 1 1/2 years. I asked for a list of payments and charges especially late charges. The man I spoke with did not speak or understand english very well. He refused to give me this info. I told him I would not make another payment untill I recieved this info. I never recieved anymore paperwork from them but they turned me over to collections. I have 8 credit cards and have never missed a payment, never went over the limit and always pay double the minimum payment. These people are crooks and no one should do business with them ever. I bought a video camera 10m years ago from GE. It was in there warrenty repair station 6 months out of the first year and they would not replace it. I will never have another GE product as long as I live.

Employee-April
Purchased glasses on May 08, 2009, received call stating that lens needed to be returned and they would call us when ready. Today, we decided to call, person answered asked my husband to hold, he waited approximately 8-10 minutes, someone got on the line and asked who he was waiting for, he told them waited another 5-6 minutes was told lens had come in but needed to be inspected and that they would call, they indeed called. We drove to LensCrafters at Arbor Place Mall which is about 20 miles from our house. Salesperson April assisted my husband, we looked at the glasses and discovered that the glasses were a bright blue and that we did not like them.Salesperson April said to us in an arrogant way, didn't you know they were blue when you bought them, to which I replied, if we had known they were blue we wouldn't be surprised right now, the glasses looked dark brown. After that she wouldn't help us to select another pair of frames she just ignored us. A Lab Tech by the name of Chris saw our frustration and tried to help us with great appreciation LensCrafters lost money that day because I, too, was going to purchase my glasses from them We are expecting our refund and shall never go back there again, not because of the glasses, but because of lack of consideration on the part of April the Salesperson

Glasses broke in 4 months.
I purchased new progressive lens glasses from LensCrafters 4 months ago. I really don’t care about name brands or off-brands, but I do care about how tough the glasses are. In my youth I was very hard on my glasses, and made it a point to get polycarbonate lenses in titanium frames. I’m a desk jockey now, with a quiet lifestyle, but I still make a point to buy tough glasses.

So I was extremely surprised when the frame of my new glasses snapped, like a rotten piece of pewter. This happened when I was just readjusting my glasses on my face – the lens frame snapped right under my left earpiece, releasing the left lens.

So much for “titanium.”

When I went into the store (Lenscrafters at Shaw & Blackstone in Fresno) I showed the attendant my broken frame, and he said, "We can fix this for $$". I didn't even hear the price - I was already talking... and I was getting loud about it too.

"I just bought these glasses, they're supposed to be Titanium - and they snapped when I was just readjusting them on my face!”

"No they're not." He said.

"What?"

"They're not Titanium." He pointed at the frame... "We don't make this style in Titanium."

I'm afraid I blew up then. I paid $400 for those glasses out of pocket, AFTER my insurance paid $150 for the frame and lens. What is worse is that they were SOLD to me as "Memory Titanium" - I was supposed to be able to flex the frame without breaking them.

When I started talking about false advertisement, the salesman suddenly changed his mind and offered to replace the frames immediately, at no charge.

I told him, "Fine. Do so. Now." And he did. Then I left. I still don’t have titanium frames. I don’t know what these frames are made of.

When I got home, I ordered my new computer glasses (with memory titanium) and my new prescription sun glasses (Also memory titanium frames) for under $50, from Zenni Optical. www.zennioptical.com.

This will be my 3rd order from Zenni, and I've been happy with all of my glasses orders from them.

This is the second and last time that I’ll allow LensCrafters to screw me. When I got these glasses, I asked LensCrafters to just replace the lenses in my old “Memory Titanium” frames. They said that they could not do so since they no longer carried the correct size lens blanks. Then the saleswoman went into her song and dance to sell me my current so-called “titanium” frames.

Lenscrafters sucks. And I’m in the market for an honest eyeglass company that offers good service, decent prices, and a no hassle lens replacement policy. Anyone know of such a company? Or is it just a myth?

disceptive replacement discount
I scratched the right lens in my glasses which I purchased from Lenscrafters 2/28/09. I paid $615 for 2 lenses plus new frames. When I inquired about replacing the damaged lens I was told I was covered by their replacement coverage and I would received a 50% discount. I was then told I had to replace both lenses even though only one lens was scratched because that is their policy, hence I would have to pay $307.50. The way I see it is I'm paying full price for the one lens I need to have replaced. I have purchased my last 3 pairs of eyeglasses from Lenscrafters and paid a lot of money to do so. I will NEVER patronize Lenscrafters again and I encourage all to do the same.
Very unhappy customer May 2, 2009
rude and prejudice
I have never been treated so poorly in all my life. I will nevver go back and I encourage all oters to find somewhere else to buy glasses. After a 3 year interval, I went with my family to get new prescription filled. When we went in a clerk came over to help us. (I have to call her a clerk as she is not a lady or an assistant) As I was looking at the frames she was bragging about how she gets her glasses for free, even the expensive ones. I found a pair that I liked and she got all excited, stating that she had not seen this pair before. She literally GRABBED THEM OUT OF MY HANDS and took them up to the register!! My husband and I stood there absolutely dumbfounded. I did not want to deal with her any more so I took advantage when another employee entered the scene, actually telling her how how did and did not like glasses on the clerk helping us. We had gone through many glasses and we had established a possibility pile when another customer came in the door. The same clerk then came over to my selection of about 4 possibilities and TOOK ONE OF THE FRAMES THAT I HAD CHOSEN to make my decision from! She took this pair up to the front and gave them to the customer!! By this time I am in shock. The customer leaves and the 3 sales people in the store RUN to the door, again leaving us standing there, and the man that had been helping me starts saying that the lady just retired from the service as a major and she has this fancy car, a BMW I believe he said!! The lady clerk that had taken the glasses out of my hand then made the comment that she was glad she had given the glasses to her as they would look much better on her!!! By this time I am hurt and shocked and I said I thought the glasses would look just as good on me as they did on her. THere was dead silence. The manager then sent the guy to lunch and the clerk disappeared to whereever leaving us standing alone again!!! I was in tears as we left the store. I have to wonder if this is more than rudeness. Perhaps it is even prejudice as I am older and overweight and I do not drive a fancy car. I can't begin to tell you the humiliation that I felt and still do. And by the way, have you ever tried to get ahold of upper management of LensCrafters? Impossible! I did receive a genuine apology from the Orcahrd Town Center but as of yet not from the manager and clerk of that store!

Eye Infection - Dangerous!!!!
EYE INFECTION WITH ABSCESS!
My mother had an eye exam and purchased glasses from Lenscrafters on Thursday. On Friday, she developed a HORRIBLE eye infection with abscess. Doctor said he treats lots of eye infections after exams from improperly sanitized eye equipment. Nurse said she takes her own sanitation wipes and uses them before putting face against equipment.

price gouging
I find it despicable that Lenscrafters offers a Standard Progressive Lens with "Obstructed field of vision" for a lower cost than the AVP Lens that has a wider field of vision for a higher cost. Why would anyone want to purchase something with obstructed field of vision. Isn't that why we are all buying glasses because we have obstructed vision? I have been wearing progressive lenses from the inception and if progressive lenses have been improved upon, why do they still offer the lens of lesser quality. I say take the "Obstructed field of vision off the market and provide the Wider field of vision AVP Lens at the price of the Obstructed one. It may be time for a class action suit to reimburse all of us obviously want to see clearly...

pricing outragous
I took my daughters frames, which i purchaced my self, to Lenscrafter in Buffalo ny at the Galleria Mall. I just needed the lenses put in. I had a price of 119.00 at a different oftical store but unfortunatly it was 5 days to get the glasses back. Lenscrafters could do them the same day. Yes but they wanted 350.00!!!
this is ridiculous. An absolute truth about stealing when it comes to stealing the customers money.
There is absolutely NO way you can justify this price.
