I have a Lev elevator which was installed when we built our home 5 years ago. I was well-satisfied, except that during the summer of 2008, after an electrical storm, the light for the call button on the second floor went out and, more importantly, the outer door could not be opened on that floor from the outside. One had to use the emergency key to release the outer door from the outside. The repair tech said that the main board had to be replaced - which cost me $3500. That was okay, until this October, when I returned home from a brief vacation to find exactly the same symptoms. $3500 each year is unreasonable. I have written the manufacturer, but my letter has gone unanswered now for 60 days. So, at this point, I could not recommend the Lev.
