We contacted LexisNexis to purhcase online research services. They quoted me a monthly fee which was agreeable. After utilizing the service a couple of times, I found that I could get better quality research free via Google. I called and asked to cancel the service telling them I was dissatisfied with the service, that it was not useful to our research. We paid all of our monthly invoices to date. They refused saying our contract was an "automatic renewal" one which could only be cancelled on the "60th day before the annual anniversary" otherwise it would continue indefinitely! We were stunned that a company like LexisNexis would put such fine print into their contracts. Moreover, I have never heard of a reputable company that would not come to some agreement with a dissatisfied customer.

I will pursue ending this contract in other ways but I feel it is important to let people know not to sign a contract with LexisNexis!
