Ok so I used to sign up for identity theft protection. I have tried lifelock, trusted id, and protect my id. Well one day I went to Sears to apply for a credit card and I was declined do because I had a fraud alert on my credit reports which I have placed. Now also lifelock says that protects your identity and each time a i would apply for credit and things like that they would email me, send a letter by mail or call me. Well when I applied for that sears card I didn't recieve an email, letter, or a phone call by lifelock trying to verify if it was actually me who was applying for credit or not. There are no good identity theft protection companies. So everyone if you really want to protect your identity stop wasting your money on identity theft protection services or credit monitoring because you are just throwing your money into the trash! Just place security freezes on your credit reports for a one time fee! That is how you can really protect your self from identity theft. Companies like lifelock, trusted id, protect my id etc. are SCAMS!
