I bought a blouse at Macy's and the clerk asked if I wanted to save 20% by applying for a Macy's store card. I said no, I had had a bad experience with Macy's a few years ago, thinking I had opened a store account, but it turned out to be a VISA card. Took a while to clear that up. She assured me they no longer offered the Macy's VISA, that this was a STORE credit card. I said no, I didn't need another credit card. She said the first purchase (blouse) would be billed to the card I used that day, and I could use the Macy's store card on future purchases. Okay, I said, just to get the 20%. Two months later, received a bill from the MACY's VISA card! They had charged my blouse to the VISA card that I had regretfully, opened a few years back. Then I had to search my other debit and credit cards to find out if they had charged both. What a pain! Two purchases and two bad experiences with Macy's. I'm done.
