product failure with no response to my complaint
I purchased a magic jack phone apparatis and ever sense i got the thing it has failed 90% of the times i tryed to use it.I contacted the technical support and they put on some kids who know nothing about the thing, I want a new one because this one is bad, I informed them if they did not send me a new one i would sue them so now its been almost 3 months sense they said they would send me a new one, but as of this date 31st oct 2009 i don't have it.this is my adress 218 e. converse st. Morristown tn.37814 my name is Donald Eldridge i used a visa card to purchase this junk.my telephone cell no is 423.231.3193 anytime.

can't retrieve voice mails (damn)
for magicjack to fix the voice mail, they have to erase all vm. and afterwards, still don't work. f**king sucks
extremely low quality tech support (are they smarter than 5th grader??????????????)
don't work unless your computer and internet up running

Credit Card Charged/ Funds on
I did...it says on the site, in nice big letters..."your CC will not be charged for 30 days" It does not say anywhere "the funds will be put on hold for the 30 days". Then when you want to cancel it, it will take an hour. Then they can do it. THEN when you get a new person, it's 24 hours. When you argue the point they then cancel it (according to them and a really questionable e-mail) it's canceled. Now about your money... gonna take a few days to get the "HOLD" off your funds... Doesn't matter that you may need those funds for something else...No. They can charge you in less than a second, or put a so called "hold" on the funds, but when you call them on it and want your money back it's oh no we cant do that, you have to wait.

On top of all this when you ask for a phone number, there is none. No phone number for a phone service? ask for an address and get the same thing... No address can be disclosed either.

Sound Fishy? sure does to me. I saved the whole convo with these people. And you better believe I am gonna post it.

Never worked. No Service
I purchased a Magicjack in May 2008. There were always problems hearing clearly BUT the day I ordered it, I also purchased the additional 5 years, not knowing that it would not work. After using the original unit, I tried to return it because it would not work properly. But I was slightly beyond the 30 days. So, I purchased another unit and returned the one that did not work... after the technical rep agreed to this.

However, my additional 5 year purchase was never transferred to the new unit. On top of that, the NEW Unit has never worked properly either. I am very disappointed with Magicjack. It is now October 2009, and my purchase amount in excess of $100.oo was absorbed by their company, yet I have never had the use of either of their products... (2 different units).

Since you can no longer (although originally it was a very difficult pocedure) speak with anyone from the company, and it is next to impossible to be in touch EVEN BY E-MAIL; I would not recommend Magicjack to anyone.

My recommendation: Save your money, or use it with a telecommunications company that will actually allow you to speak on a telephone and make phone calls.

you took money out of my account for 3 day delivery, it's now 5 days and i still haevn't recieved the product. i want to know why or I will be putting a hold on my account or sue you for false advetisement.

-Lewis: If you have the new device & in the registration form you want to go back to a certain steps, just unplug the magicjack & plug back in. Since there is no choices to go back to the first steps. Then, you will have to fill out the registration form again.

-ME: well that's not as easy for everyone as it may be for you. You have no idea what it took to get this device!! It seems you've reached the end of your usefulness.

I believe it valuable for EVERY potential purchaser of your product be aware of your serious problems w/ your product & customer service. defective device
I own one of their devices and it keeps failing. I contacted them and they will not replace it. I asked for a price for just a new one without service, since I have already paid them for 4 years service. They want to charge me the full price that includes 1 years servive (39.95 plus shipping). I believe they should only charge me 20>00 plus 3.95 shipping.

Unbelievably Crappy
TAKE MY WORD FOR IT AND DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THE MAGICJACK. EVERY COMPLAINT YOU'VE READ IS COMPLETELY TRUE. ABSOLUTE JUNK... I AM THROWING MINE IN THE GARBAGE AS I TYPE THIS. TRY SOMETHING LIKE PHONEPOWER OR SOMETHING IF YOU NEED CHEAPER PHONE SERVICE.

MAGICJACK IS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!

Difficult to maintain
For me it didn't work since the beginning. I contacted the MJ technician and after 40 minutes MJ worked, then when I made the calls, the sound wasn't clear, and suddenly the communication was gone. When I received phone calls, my friends couldn't hear me clearly. Then I contacted the tech again and I was told to change my phones for a different brand that were compatible with MJ. I did, I spent around $65.00. No positive results. I struggle for 1 year on and off, but one day I just gave up on it. I contacted again the MJ tech and after 45 minutes that I spent trying to "fix" MJ according to their guide, the tech. was repeating the same steps that I did previously. ...I respectfully wrote to the tech that I was giving up, I don't need more stress that the one life provide. Maybe for other people worked, but I was not the lucky one. Perhaps in the future their technology will be improved, I'm sure about that.
