On the outside of the Magnavox VHS to DVD recorders there is no mention of needing any other parts to make the unit work or to connet it. But as soon as you open the flaps there is a hazy gray picture of a "external tuner" that must be connected for the unit to work. I call magnavox and they said that is sold seperatly or you should already have one. I said I am taking it back and you have lost another customer for life.
