We bought a truck in Arizona. My husband flew out to get it. I got insurance on the vehicle before he left and he had the card. Arizona will not issue a temp tag. Missouri will not issue anything until it is inspected. So we took a tag from the truck here at home, so that they would not think we were bogus. the tag would come back to us if it was checked. My husband paid for the truck and drove out with it and got less than 1mile and was stopped. He was THROWN IN JAIL for having ficticious tags. He spent the night in jail and saw the judge the next day. He was not fed and they kept his belt and cigarettes. The judge told him that he got bad advise on tagging the vehicle and charged him a night in jail and 600 dollars then gave him a check for his cash and sent him outside in the desert. no money, no vehicle and 1300 miles from home. He found an arizona resident to go to motor vehicle and put the truck in his and my husbands name, and buy plates. Do not go to Arizona to buy a vehicle, unless you want to pay for it and put it in someone else's name that is a resident of arizona. Mind you this isnt a foreign country, but one of our states. it is just criminal on the part of Arizona, i hope to repay the favor to them someday.
