My 21 year old has bad credit - and got "approved" at motor mall for a vehicle. Approved for around $12000. (at 25% interest rate). He couldn't, for some reason, get the vehicle he wanted, so he found a truck - it said on the window $6100 OBO. The sales person was going to go inside and get information on it. He comes out and says hey, I have another vehicle that my manager said you could have and had the keys for that. They test drove it. My son wanted to test drive the truck - so they did. It shook a little at stops and was told it was an idle things - the timing just needed to be adjusted. And there was a noise under the hood - but they can't find out why - everything was working fine according to the mechanics there. So, being pressed for time, he took the truck. Wow, the price went from 6100 to 9600. Because he had bad credit - he was told the banks would add all these fees to it. Never disclosed about that before. Now, he was driving it and is 500 miles away and the truck breaks down, the ingine light is on, spark plugs are bad, wires are bad...but hey, they said they had it checked out before he drove it off the lot by their mechanics... Now he is stuck on the side of the road and the manager there basically said there was nothing they were going to do. My son had to get the car back to them. The manager also told him that if my son didn't like the price, too bad. They could basically live without his buying a vehicle there.
