To whom it may concern:
We here in Bergville are facing major crisis regarding our sewage!!!
Living in a time when technology is at its peak, we the residents of Bergville still suffer the system of septic tanks!!!
Being a tourist town we are embarrassed.
For the past 5 years and more the municipality is promising to link our sewage to the main line but up to now we are still waiting!!!
One third the town enjoys the privilege of being linked to the main line.
Getting the honey suckers every week to drain has become a curse for us.
We are paying rates, despite that we have to pay for every suck!
The cost of the residential suck is about R111-00 and the business suck is about R222-00 which is normally done on a weekly basis!!!
What is worse is that due to our tanks being so old, most of them have cracks and leaks thus forcing the water to surface and pollute our environment and surroundings which is unacceptable!
Please assist us in our plight!
