The billing statement says that a delinquency charge will be imposed after 6:00 a.m. the day after the due date. However, even though the payment is made electronically before 6:00 a.m. the day after the due date, the company still imposes a late charge of $39.00 because it takes them 2-3 days to process the payment. Therefore, the consumer is penalized because of the company's processing time rather than because the payment was made after 6:00 a.m. the day after the due date. Also, they increase the interest rate after a certain number of what they consider late payments! Undoubtedly, they have collected millions of dollars in late fees from consumers who make the pauments prior to 6:00 a.m. the day after the due date because they take 2 days to process the payment. I do not believe that the consumer should be penalized because of the company's delay in processing the payments. What os even more frustrating is that they will not waive the fee but once during the life of the account, won't even attempt to resolve issues for customer satisfaction and will not allow you to speak to their superior.
