Failing to pay for double delivery, $175
I got double-billed for the New York Times for months after I moved, even though I had called to cancel delivery at my old address. When I discovered this only by logging onto my account online, I learned that they owe me $175. I called immediately and was told I'd be refunded within a month. This was in September. It's now a week from February and I still have had to call 20 times, literally, to be told time and time again that oops, they lost the record (three times), or "it's being processed, call next week." Needless to say, this is INFURIATING. I can't afford to give them $175 more than I owe, and at this point, I'm not sure I would if I could.

Just a heads up that if you order the 50% off rate for new subscribers, it is for 8 weeks only so be sure to check that billing period. Any other will period will result in full price for the extra time. Better to call the subscription in - on line orders can be confusing.
