After receiving my receipt for my food, I noticed that the menu items contain one price,and on the receipt, the price does not match the menu price. That price is escalated to a higher price reflected in the subtotal and then sales tax is applied to already taxed items, thereby double taxing customers. Most individuals either never ask for their receipt or never go over their receipts once they get them. So the restaurants are aware of this and they get away with it.
