Turbo lasting only 128 000km
When driving back from holiday our Hardbody Double cab 3l Diesel lost power. Bakkie was towed to Klerksdorp Nissan on 03/01/2009. First result was that whole engine need to be redone for a cost of +/-R85000.00. We didn't accept and refer to Nissan SA. After another investigation-miraculously the whole engine didn't needed to be redone-there was something that broke off, damaged the engine-what?Klerksdorp Nissan didn't know. They dragged so much that an engineer from Nissan SA drove to Klerksdorp to investigate. After this we got notified that a fin in the Turbo broke off and dammaged the engine(+/-R56000.00 damage). This was in FEB-MORE than a month later. Bakkie is outside warranty-28000km but not 3 years old yet. NissanSA prepared to pay R5966.19 and reply that the turbo failed "DUE TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR"as per their letter. PLEASE notify all customers with a NISSAN DIESEL vehicle that they must PLEASE replace their turbo's on 100 000km as it will not last longer. This is now what I call quality!!! Nissan was quick to organize finance on a new vehicle but non existant on the complaint or after sales. The fact that we bought 3 NEW Nissans also MEAN NOTHING!!! This was the LAST Nissan ever
