Edward Shaun McKeown of Northeastern Inc contracted to replace my Central Air Conditioning in my home in late April of 2011. I had given Eddie a required $3, 000 deposit in order for Eddie to purchase the new A/C equipment for replacement. Eddie stated it would take 7 to 10 days for the equipment to be delivered to my home. After several weeks & multiple phone calls to Eddie I realized I was not going to see any A/C equipment delivered to my home nor did I feel that Eddie had any intension of doing the job. Eddie's attitude completely changed after I handed him the money. All I kept hearing from Eddie (if he felt like returning the messages I left him) was Eddie's excuses, promises, stories & lies.
After doing a bit of research on line & going to the Suffolk County Consumer Affairs office I learned they had no record of Northeastern Inc or Eddie S McKeown being licensed in Suffolk County to perform any Plumbing, Heating & A/C equipment repairs or installations.
I also went to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office to find there has been multible law suit judgements against Eddie S Mckeown using multible home addreses in the past & he has multible suits still pending in Suffolk County. It is now obvious to me that Eddie has been scamming the public for quite some time!
I then went to the local Police Precinct after almost 2 months of listening to Eddie's line of crap & filed a formal complaint. It turns out the Detective's informed me that Eddie could be charged with a felony for stealing my money & I could have Eddie arrested.
The Detective then called Eddie to inform him that if he did not return my money a felony warrant would be in order for Grand Larceny & Eddie will be arrested.
Eddie then contacted me & returned my $3, 000 in cash within 3 days of the Detective's phone call!
This has been a bad experience to say the least, a lesson learned & I'm very lucky to get my money back!
I would not recomend Northeastern Inc Plumbing & Heating or Eddie S McKeown to my worst enemy. My advice is to choose a reputable & licensed contractor. Do your research & do a background check before you hand over your money to anyone!
