10 years ago i went on same raft. we met promptly at 08:00am at the hotel, the guides were very clued up and gave proper instructions on what to do on the river. on 05/01/2011, i went with my girlfriend and 2 kids. we were meant to meet the guides at 08:00am. they were there at 08:30. they still had to get the boats ready. we left for the river at 10:00. we got to the river at 10:30 only to realise they left the pump at the hotel. we had to wait 30 minutes for the pump. we got on the river after 11:00. there were two boats us on the 1 and another family on the other. from the beginning it was hell. the river was way to full and rough for amateurs. most of it was grade 4 or 5. on more than one occasion did we almost die. it's no joke getting caught in a whirl pool, especially when the pathetic useless guide has made our life jackets to tight. there was no calm for the whole 10km. it was rough all the way. the other family had the same experience. at one stage we were rescuing the father and daughter into our boat. this was a very traumatic experience for my family and theirs. and at R450.00 per person!!! imagine paying that to kill yourself!!! I'm sure their abseiling and gorge swing is just as unsafe. USELESS OR NO MANAGEMENT!! THEY MAKE YOU SIGN YOUR LIFE AWAY AND DON'T GIVE A DAMN FURTHER. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE MURDERERS.
