Sometimes you may feel the need to take on an ambitious weekend project. Well installing patio pavers can be just the thing you choose to do. This can be a great addition to your backyard, easily making it a gathering area. The great thing about patio pavers is that they come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors. Obviously the first thing you will want to do when starting this project is to decide what kind of stones you are going to use and to purchase them. Sometimes the pricing on these stones is calculated by square feet and sometimes it is per stone. This just depends on where you choose to purchase them from. Remember to always buy 10 percent more patio paver than you plan on using. This is always to be on the safe side. You may accidentally break some of your patio pavers or you may need to cut some of them into odd shapes to get around obstacles. Now you can start laying down your patio pavers. Start by the area closest to the house or the entry way when you begin to lay your patio pavers. From here on out it is all about the pattern that you want your stones to create and you can release your artistic side when laying your patio pavers. You will have to cut some of the stones to fit corners or obstacles. Once you have finished laying down your patio pavers you will want to put a plastic edging around the perimeter of the patio pavers. Then you will want to fill the cracks of your patio pavers with sand. This can be easily done by using the fine sand that you used to make to base and using a broom to sweep some sand back and forth until all the cracks are covered.
