Paul J Hooten put a hold on my account without giving me notice by letter or phone call, he did not contact me at all. On Friday morning after I made my deposit for the past weeks earnings, I was told by the bank teller there is a hold on my account placed by Paul J Hooten & Associates, when I called Paul J Hooten & Associates they told me they were collecting on judgements from 1997 and 2001 both medical bills that were paid when I sold my house in 2001.I guess they don't realize that if I did in fact owe this money, the statued on medical bill collection is 6 years and they had no right to proceed with this hold on my account ...When we called the two companies that originally filed the Judgement they had no knowledge of Paul J Hooten & Associates...I think Paul J Hooten & Associates are scam artists and prey on bad debt over 7 years old, I don't know if the documentation they sent to the banks are real or if a Judge even signed off on the levy. This I will have to wait until Monday to find out, in the mean time Paul J Hooten & Associates needs to be investigated by the Attorney Generals office, I am waiting on a reply from them as well as the Bar Association concerning this matter. Please reply to me if you have had a similar expieriance. I think he is breaking the law.
