I bought a car from Pinetree, on 12/09/10. On purchasing the car I was persuaded to buy a lifetime warranty with it for an extra couple of pounds a month over the term of the loan (60 months), the reaqson being- I was told- was so that if anything "god forbid" happened with the car that needed repairing there would be no argument in getting it repaired with their workshop.For 6 months the car has run smoothly and was pleased with my purchase. But then on 27/03/11 the car broke down (it happens I know), however when trying to get in touch with Pinetree to find out how I went about getting it fixed I was passed from pillar to post and basically given the run around. I had to take half day from work to travel down to Pinetree where I was "finally" given a number to contact about my warranty, however when I got in touch with them I was informed that the warranty that Pinetree had taken out for me expired after only 3 months of purchase of the car, which is the legal requirement that all car dealers must give. In summing up I am now pondering my next step in taking legal action against Pinetree on retrieving my warranty cost, and would urge anyone thinking of buying a car from these dealers to think again but seriously avoid paying extra for any warranties they are asked to buy.
