Dr. Kao continues to expand his interest in endoscopic surgery to facial plastic surgery. He specializes in the EndoSculpt Browlift, MidFacelift, Vertical Facelift and Limited Incision Necklift. He helps teach other surgeons these specialized techniques at the Endoscopic Plastic Surgery Educational Seminar in Los Angeles, California. One area of interest to Dr Kao is Endoscopic Plastic Surgery, in particular the EndoSculpt Vertical Facelift. The endoscope is a small fiberoptic camera (5mm wide) that is inserted into a 1 inch incision in the temporal scalp area. This helps to visualize the structures inside of the face without making a large incision. The operation is done watching the television monitor, rather than directly at the wound. There are also smaller (8mm) incisions placed on the forehead hair bearing scalp area for introduction of instruments.
