The Incarnation of Neglect is a recently introduced and threatening boss of Uber in Path of Exile 3.27. This fight is one of the most difficult fights in the existing league that requires rapid reaction, punch accuracy, and a strong knowledge of the random movements. It is not a fight of brute strength, but rather a battle of stamina and accuracy and one wrong step can terminate a run.

This boss is found in the arena of Moment of Loneliness, and the player can access this arena with some fragments of the map or under the conditions of the further exploration of Atlas. The arena begins with quite an open air though it soon gets very chaotic as the fight goes on. The Incarnation of Neglect has broad-based elemental attacks, laser shots, and bursts of projectiles that are aimed at penalizing misplaced positioning. Her resistances are noteworthy, including fire, cold, and lightning (50%); chaos (30%); this is why the battle will be more lengthy and painful without using raw damage only. She is immune to slow and knockback effects; the conventional form of crowd control will not be effective in this case; the only way to survive is to analyze her movements and respond accordingly.

One of the climaxes of the fight is when she screams Patience is Mercy. This is the indicator of the bloody wave of the projectiles and beam strikes which cover the arena as the wave. The players must continue to move to survive and seek environmental protection by use of features such as statues. These brief pauses in her attack are what can save her, and what can also mean that she is immediately deletable. The tempo of the combat is harsh--on, evade, reorganize, attack again--and there is no room to error. Apple's pace and pressure have a claustrophobic effect of intensity that makes players be on their toes at any given time.

The boss is even more violent as the fight goes on. At this point (at about the point of 50%), she launches a sequence of energy beams that trap parts of the arena, pushing the players into narrower and more dangerous areas. Every stage extends the amount of chaos, and the attacks of elements overlap, and movement is restricted suddenly. The combat is more about being sensitized and positioned than about inflicting harm. Aggility-based or evasion-based builds are at a distinct advantage and slower, tankier ones might also have problems with maintaining the necessary constant movement.

The punishments of succumbing to the Incarnation of Neglect are rewarding and befitting that hard task. Players will have a chance to get valuable loot, elements and chaos-specific items, and fragments which will enhance the lore of the league. It is often advised to enter with an equal setup of equipment hardy resistances, dependable sustain, and equipment to reduce burst damage. However, in spite of the best preparation, the greatest challenge is on learning her cues and improvising in the field. There are other players who play successfully with the help of distraction items such as decoy totems or constructions centered on evasion and dodge, which adversely affects the exposure to her high-damage sequences.
