I have purchased a vehicle from Porters Auto in Gemiston on the 18 February 2010, the vehicle was falsely misrepresented on an advertisement as a 2009 model, and this has influenced my decision to buy.

This car was involved in an accident (write-off) on the 10 October 2010, the insurance is in the process of settling my car as a 2008 model (with 2008 rates). I tried to confront them with the matter but there was no cooperation from them.

I have sent through to them a report from VW SA showing that a car is a 2008 model but they told me that its none of their business. I am in the process of laying charges of Misrepresentation and False Advertising with the consumer court with the help of Advertising Standards Authority of South Africa (ASASA)

I am writing this to advice everyone not to even think of buying from that dealer, not because they sell bad cars, but their unwillingness to reach out to their clients for their own mistakes
