I rented a mid size car from Portugal Cars Algarve in January 2009 till April (70 days) for the sum of 1.700.00 Euros .When the car was delivered to the hotel I found it had 3 very bad dents along one side of the car.I refused that car and they brought me an other car the same size only they said I would have to pay an extra 100.00 Euros.I disputed this but I was told that was the only car they had (so I paid it).Two days before leaving to go home, someone backed into the rear bumper of the car in the Algarve Shopping Centre, leaving a small dent in the fender.I checked my policy ( the second time) and it said that I had to make out a police report, when the police checked the car they found that I had been driving this car with an expired licence dating back to June 2008.I read the policy over again (very carefully this time)and it stated quite clearly, 1 NO HIDDEN CHARGES, 2 ALL INCLUSIVE PACAGE, 3 ALL INSURANCE INCLUDED, 4 FULL INSURANCE.
When the owner Luis Rosa came to pick up the he demanded I pay him an exrta 400.00 Eoros or he would go to the police, I said go ahead and then he said give him 250.00 Euros, as I was tired and ready to go home very early the next morning I gave in, and payed him reluctantly.
This is a dishonest firm and I would not recommend any one doing business with these people .I have since sent a complaint to the Chamber of Commerce.It will be interesting if I ever hear from them.
