Scam and cheating
People tend to skip the terms and conditions on the website, or not read the fine prints at the bottom of the page. Mostly, uneducated americans fall in this trap. You, as consumers have the responsibility to read the company's policy before enrolling. Privacy Matters have several policies which they operate under. Consumers must be responsible for their actions. Do not click on an online banner that advertise "free laptops". It's funny to see how many people today really think that they are getting freelaptop if they accept the offer. Please, do not bother calling and ask prior refunds because you wont get them according to the terms and conditions. Be aware and responsible of your actions.

Beware
I never signed up for anything with this company only to find out that they have been debiting my account since 8/04.

If I do not receive a refund of all monies paid in the next three days I will report them to the FBI for Fraud. They have taken over a $1000 form my account.

When I called them they never would say what my "membership" was for. Evidently I entered an insecure website in 2004 and made a purchase (not from them) and they were able to access my account.

They got so comfortable that they would debit my account $19.95 two and three times a day.

Stay away from them
They sold our debit info to a company in the UK and now that account is tied up and they charged my other debit card, a number they never should have gotten, for $29.95. This is just a big scam to get your info and do to you exactly what are you trying to protect yourself from...GO ELSEWHERE!!! I do not understand how these people at PRIVACY MATTERS can sleep at night but I know that they will surely rot in ***. Check your statements carefully and make sure that you get after them if this has happened to you.

Charging 29.95 + 1.00 for "free" credit report!
This rip off company charged $1.00 to see a "free" credit report. Which I never saw. Then charged 29.95 for services I never asked for. And when I called my bank, they were very aware of this company, "Privacymatter". After seeing here complaints going back a year or more. My question is, why are they allowed to continue doing business this way???

This scam needs to be stopped!
This is an internet business called Privacy Matters (www.privacymatters.com). Sometime in April 2 I tried to get what was called a "free" credit report. I proceeded to fill out the information because it is required before I can get my credit report.

When I received my credit card bill, I was charged two different fees, $1 and $29.95. When I called to ask about this they said I had enrolled into their program to receive credit reports. I said that I did not enroll I was only checking my credit report.

Now I realize this is only $1. But, if you start filling up the form you are automatically enrolled and they will charged 29.95

If this is done to several people, they would make a lot of money.

Something has to be done to stop this scam!!
