As a member of the board of directors for our local artists association our treasurer explained a company called ProtekAdv had made a check charge against our association's account. No one had ordered a product or service from them. A little further investigation revealed protekadv.com, which promotes itself as a Search Engine Optimization company may be the culprit. I am in fact the webmaster for our association with professional training and experience in search engine optimization. We utterly have no need whatsoever for their services. I would further complain their address does not appear anywhere on their website. This is forever a red flag for me. What business in the world does not want their customers to know where they are???? Similar to another complaint here on ComplaintsBoard we were charged $259.00 in what appears to be a forgery. Our Treasurer and accountant are still investigating the charge and are working to get a refund. No word yet on Protekadv's willingness to refund. NEXT - their website portrays them to be some big legitimate company in their field, but the Better Business Bureau, which they proudly display the logo for being one of their "Accredited Businesses" does not show them in a basic search at the BBB website. Unless I am proven otherwise - I am convinced they are scam artists and you should not do business with them
